RESULTS for UBD Table Tennis Championship 2013 TEAM EVENT

RESULTS FOR UBD TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 TEAM EVENT

Note: Special Case for Group D with 3 teams.
Team Ranked 2 will have the choice to go to premier or novice as they are considered as "Top two" or "Bottom two". Upon agreement from Team Hakpui, Team IPT Zylon Fibre (ZLF) will be D3 and team Hakpui will be D4. 

The draw for novice event will be at 8AM. Follow up by a 30 minutes warm up session.

Matches will start 8.30AM sharp.

As for premier team, the draw will be at 1PM, follow up by 30 minutes warm up session.

Matches will start 1.30PM sharp.

For teams who failed to arrive on time, the draw will be done automatically by other teams.

Entrance fee: BND $50

Please come early if you intend to warm up. Matches will start at 8AM sharp!

Rules:
1) Best of 5 sets.
2) For the group stage every match will finish their games regardless if they already won or not.
3) For 2nd stages, every match will finish when a confirm win is already achieved.
4) Relaxed service rule, but no hiding the serve.
5) Please show proper and professional behaviour.
6) Be ready to umpire the matches yourselves for the group stages.

UBD Ping Pong Club is organising a Table Tennis Open in conjunction with Pesta Konvo 2013 from, 6th, 11th, 13th & 14th October 2013

OPEN TO ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS OF UNIVERSITI BRUNEI DARUSSALAM ·        Every potential candidate has a chance to enter one or both Events. -         Emailing ubdppc@gmail.com with the subject “UBD Open” -         Walling us on Facebook (Universiti Brunei Darussalam Ping Pong Club) -         Contacting Mujiib-7148917; or Ibrahim-8911640.

TWO CHALLENGES AWAIT YOU! Register yourselves to win one (or two) of these prizes: Team Event - 10 Gold Medals, 10 Silver Medals and 10 Bronze Medals. Single Event (Only open to IPT) - 2 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medal, 4 Bronze Medals.

  

The Draw will be held on Wednesday, 2th October 2013, 4pm. (with UBDPPC committee members present) The result of the draw and detailed tournament schedule are final, which will be made available on ubdppc.blogspot.com by 4th October 2013 6pm.

 

FORMAT OF THE COMPETITION
Unisex Team Event Players can choose to form a team of all male players, or all female players, or a mixture of male and female players.
1	Minimum of 3 players and maximum of 5 players in a team.
2	1st Stage (Round Robin / Group Stage)
	2nd Stage (Knock-Out - Bottom Two teams in each group will play in the Novice Division & the top Two teams in each group will play in the Premier Division)
3	Matches are based on Best of 5 Games – Single, Single, Double, Single, Single
4	Games are based on Best of 5 sets for all stages.
Single Event Male and female players will get to compete with each other.
1	1st Stage (Round Robin)
	2nd Stage (Knock Out - Players from the bottom half of each group will play in the Novice Division & Players from the top half of each group will play in the Premier Division)
2	Games are based on Best of 5 sets
	Note: Umpiring during the earlier stage will be done by the players themselves (turn taking). Umpires will be provided in the later stages of the tournament.
Rules:
1	International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).
2	The service rule will be relaxed but hidden serves are not allowed.
3	Audience must remain quiet when a point is being played during a game.
	Audience must not harass the competitors during a game. Players must show proper behaviours during a game.
4	You would be asked to leave the hall if the two rules above are violated.
