“BATTA President Cup Table Tennis Championships 2011”
RULES
1. The name of the Championships is “BATTA President Cup Championships 2011”.
2. Organisation
The Championships is organized by BATTA and in cooperation with the Department of Youth & Sports, Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sports, Brunei Darussalam.
3. Rules
The Competition will be played according to the ITTF rules.
4. Eligibility of Players
The competition is open to players who are Brunei citizens, Permanent residents of Brunei Darussalam and Brunei green I/C holders.
5. Dates and venue of the Competition
The competition will be held on 2nd, 9th and 16th October, 2011 at the MENGLAIT SPORTS HALL, from 0900 hours to 2100 hours
6. The Events are as follows:
a. President Cup Men Single
b. President Cup Women Single
c. U18 Boy & Girl Single
7. System of Competition
All events will be contested on the round robin to knock out basis for the best of 5 games.
8. Closing date and draw
The closing date and draw will be held on Sunday the 18th September 2011 at 3pm at the Menglait Sports Hall.
9. Walkover
A player who fails to report for his / her match within ten minutes from the time of calling according to the Competition Schedule is deemed to have forfeited his / her match to his / her opponent.
10. Protest
A protest must be submitted in writing not later than thirty minutes (30) after the game concerned together with a deposit of B$50.00. In the event that the protest is upheld, a refund of deposit will be made. The deposit is non-refundable otherwise. The decision of the Jury of Appeal (BATTA) shall be final.
11. Tie Break
The order in a group is determined primarily by the numbers of match points gained. In a played match, the winner scores 2 match points and loser scores 1 match point. If two or more members of a group have the same number of points, their order is decided by the results only of the matches between them. If match points do not determine the order, it is decided by the win/loss ratios of games or, if necessary, win/loss ratios of points.
12. Participants are responsible for checking the Competition Schedule on the Notice Board in the Tutong Sports Complex or with the organizers.
13. The prizes will be awarded for President Cup as follows:
a. A Challenge Trophy plus a Gold medal to the winner for Open Man and Woman Single Event.
b. A Silver medal to the winner who is placed second for each event.
c. 2 Bronze medals to the losing semi-finalists for each event.
d. A Gold medal to the BATTA U18 winners for each event.
e. A Silver medal to the BATTA U18 who are placed second for each event.
f. 2 Bronze medals to the BATTA U18 losing semi-finalists for each event.
14. Entry Fee: Members @ $10; Non Members @ $15; Student U21@ $5.00 per event.
15. Late entry after the draw will not be entertained.
16. Official entry form together with entry fee must reach the Secretary General before 3pm on 3rd July 2011. Entry by e mail should be sent to batta78@gmail.com a day before the closing date. All entry fees must be settled before play commences.
17. Participants are responsible for umpiring and scoring on rotation basis up to the quarter final rounds.
